Position Summary
The Heah of Accounting is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of PUR's accounting records and financial reporting across the Group. The role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, coordinates monthly and annual closings, manages statutory and tax compliance, and serves as the primary accounting counterpart for Regional Accounting and Finance Managers in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
You will lead a team of two accounting professionals and contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting systems to support PUR's growth and international operations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Financial Close
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for Group entities.
Ensure timely and accurate recording of accounting transactions in accordance with local GAAP and Group accounting policies.
Review and validate general ledger entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Monitor accruals, provisions, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
Ensure consistency and accuracy of accounting practices across entities.
Group Coordination
Act as the primary accounting liaison with Regional Accounting and Finance Managers in: Latin America, Africa and Asia
Coordinate closing calendars, reporting packages, and accounting guidelines.
Support regional teams in resolving complex accounting matters and ensuring compliance with Group policies.
Review key accounting judgments and significant transactions across regions.
Statutory Accounts & Compliance
Coordinate preparation of annual statutory financial statements.
Ensure compliance with local accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, accountants, and regulatory authorities.
Support the preparation of audit files and responses to audit requests.
Monitor evolving accounting and regulatory requirements and ensure appropriate implementation.
Consolidation & Group Reporting
Support the preparation of consolidated financial information for management and shareholders.
Ensure timely submission of reporting packages from regional entities.
Review intercompany balances and transactions and coordinate reconciliation processes.
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of Group reporting standards.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
Maintain robust accounting controls and documentation.
Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting activities.
Strengthen financial controls, accounting procedures, and reporting accuracy.
Contribute to ERP and finance system optimization initiatives.
Treasury & Cash Management Support
Monitor cash accounting and treasury-related transactions.
Ensure proper accounting treatment of financing arrangements, loans, and intercompany funding.
Support working capital management through accurate balance sheet monitoring.
Team Management
Lead, coach, and develop two accounting team members.
Allocate responsibilities and monitor workload to ensure efficiency and quality.
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Support training and professional development initiatives.
Job requirements
We are looking for a candidate with:
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
DEC, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is a plus.
8+ years of accounting experience in an international environment.
Experience leading accounting teams and managing audits.
Multi-country accounting exposure preferred.
Audit firm experience is a plus.
Strong knowledge of French GAAP and international accounting standards.
Consolidation, intercompany accounting, and multi-currency environments.
ERP experience (NetSuite is a plus).
Advanced Excel skills.
Leadership and stakeholder management.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work across cultures and time zones.
Key Success Factors
